The FAME is a site devoted to the systematic and scientific study of flags and coats of arms. Such symbols often bear strong political and other messages. Inclusion of those symbols here does not mean that the author supports or approves of the ideas they may stand for. |
On 14th March 2002 the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was reorganized into a new joined state of Serbia and Montenegro. The constitutional charter required that the flag be adopted within the six moths, but that was not done. As temporary solution it was finally decided that the symbols of FR Yugoslavia that were continued to be in use de facto in the first place, to be used further on and the search for the new symbols was abandoned. With the declaration of independence of Montenegro on 3 June 2006, the joined state ceased to exist.
