The flag is vertically divided blue and yellow bicolour with the coat of arms in the middle. The shield of the coat of arms has a medieval Bosnian shape, vertically divided into yellow with three five-pointed voided stars and blue with yellow fleur-de-lis above five yellow wavy stripes.

The flag is green over white containing the coat of arms over the middle. The coat of arms is a based of the historical coat of arms of the Kotromanić family that was adopted as the first coat of arms of independent Bosnia and Herzegovina in early 1990's. In the lower field of the coat of arms are three golden lily flower buds and in the upper field a golden fully-flowering lily flower and an issuing silver helmet. Diagonally across the middle is set a white bend with a golden ornament. The background of the shiled is coloured from dark blue in the base gradually to light blue in the chief.
