The FAME is a site devoted to the systematic and scientific study of flags and coats of arms. Such symbols often bear strong political and other messages. Inclusion of those symbols here does not mean that the author supports or approves of the ideas they may stand for. |

The regulations on the local flags in Croatia require that a flag of a city or community be of a field of one colour with the coat of arms in the middle or offset towards hoist. Most of the communities follow this rule.
In 1997 the communities of Civljane, Ervenik, Kijevo, Kistanje and Orlić were included from Zadar and Knin Couny, the community of Oklaj was renamed to Promina, while the communities of Pirovac and Rogoznica were formed. In 1998 the community of Orlić changed the name to Biskupija, in 1999 the community of Murter was formed (renamed Murter-Kornati in 2006) and in 2002 the community of Bilice too. In 2006 the community of Tribunj was established.

The coat of arms of Bilice is in a semi-circular shield azure a swan argent beaked or with an eel of the second in it standing on a buoy gules issuant from barullets wavy also argent. The flag is blue with a yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle.
The community of Pirovac seceeded from the city of Šibenik in 2002.

The coat of arms of Kijevo is azure a ruined church or. It is the church of St. Salvador (Sv. Spas), originating from 9th century, with the oldest remaining belfry in Croatia witnessing the Frankish influence on the Christianization of Croats. Almost identical coat of arms picturing the same church (gules a ruined church argent) was used by neighbouring city of Vrlika.
The flag is light blue with yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle. There is also a ceremonial flag in form of dark blue gonfalon with three tails, the middle one longer, all three ending triangularly and all containing yellow floral ornament and fringe along bottom. The coat of arms is in the middle and the name of the community above it in two arches.
According to the info on unofficial web site the flag and the ceremonial flag is red. It may be an error.
Until 1997. Kijevo was in the Zadar-Knin County.
In 2006 the community began process of adoption of the symbols.

The coat of arms of Pirovac is azure St. George stantant holding a sword and a shield stantant in a doorway argent. St. George is the patron of the city and the portal is the one still preserved in the city walls. The flag is blue with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle. The ceremonial flag is a blue gonfalon bordered yellow with three triangualry ending tails and yellow fringe along the bottom. In the middle is the yellow bordered coat of arms, topped with the arched inscription of the name of the community and the tails are ornamented with an olive, a vine and a fig branches each.
The coat of arms originally adopted in 1990's included also a green dragon beneath the protal, but this was refused by the Ministry of Administration.
The community of Pirovac seceeded from the community of Tisno in 1997.

The coat of arms pictures in a blue shield a statue of the Black Madonna (Madonna of Loretto - Gospa od Loreta) surrounded with seven eight-pointed golden stars. It has been revered in these regions since 18th century and is preserved in the central chruch of St. George (Sv. Juraj) in Primošten. The stars represent the seven islets on which Primošten is built. The flag is blue with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle.
The ceremonial flag is vertically hoisted banner with the fly ending triangularly containing the coat of arms below the name of the community. Under the coat of arms are fig and olive branches and a bunch of grapes. A sligtly simplified version of it is used as a table flag.

The coat of arms of Ružić is vert a mausoleum or. The mausoleum shown is the one of the Meštrović family in Otavice, built by the famous artist and is dominating the field that covers the territory of the community. The decision explains the symbolic of colours: green stands for the Petrovo Polje (Peter's Field) covering the teritory of the community, and golden-yellow is for the wheat, the main agricultural product. The flag is green with the coat of arms in the middle bordered golden-yellow.

The coat of arms of Tisno is azure over a sword argent hilted or fesswise pointing to sinister a cloak gules. The charges refer to St. Martin. The flag is blue with the coat of arms bordered golden-yellow in the middle. The ceremonial flag is gonfalon in dimensions 80×160 cm, dark blue, bordered golden and with golden fringe along the bottom. In the middle is the coat of arms and below it are golden ornaments of olive and vine branches. Above is inscription "OPĆINA TISNO" in golden.
The community issued a concourse in 2008 for design of the coat of arms and the flag, but invalidated it in 2009.
The community of Tribunj seceeded from the city of Vodice in 2006.
