Since 1993 the Croatian legislation allows the units of local self-government (counties, cities and communities) to have their coat of arms and flag, however these may be legally used only after they are approved by a central state authority. The a flag of a city or community should be of a one colour field with the coat of arms in the centre or offset towards hoist. Some exceptions from this rule are tolerated for the cities with traditional flag established before these rules were made. The coat of arms must follow also a set of rules to be approved. Some cities and communities use unapproved designs nevertheless. See more on the approval dates. Prior to 1993 the coats of arms and flag were not regulated by state legislation.
The official bazon (heraldic descripton) of the coats of arms and descriptions of the flags are according to the approval text of the central state authority, other description according to other community documents.
In 1994 the community of Donja Brela was renamed to Brela, and in 1997 the communities of Kaštelska Zagora, Donji Proložac and Zmijava-Runović to Lećevica, Proložac and Zmijavci respectivly. The communities of Dugopolje, Lokvičići, Okrug, Progomet, Primorski Dolac, Runovići, Sutivan, Tučepi and Zadvarje were formed in the same time.
Legal notice: The counties, cities and communities in the Republic of Croatia by their decision on adoption and use of the coats of arms and flags limit the use of these symbols only after obtaining an explicit written permission. However, most of the units of local government and self-government by the same decisions explicitly allow the free use of the symbols in the educational and scientific purposes and in the artistic creation, under condition that such use does not offend the dignity and honour of the local unit. The author of these pages considers that the depiction of the coats of arms and the flags here meets the conditions of free use in that sense.

The coat of arms of Baška Voda is azure a sail-boat or with a single sail argent and a masthead pennant gules. This kind of boat is named leut. The flag is blue with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the centre of it.
The Ministry approval refers to the 1994 decision, adopting different design. It seems that the current design was not formally adopted by the community.

Description of arms: Opis grba ili blazoniranje počima izgledom starog pomorskog broda - štele, bijele boje - crnih kontura, na valovitome moru. Štela ima svoje povjesno jedro, trokutastog oblika s dvije ravne crte, koje iz lijeve strane grba
iz zajedničke točke idu koso prema desnoj strani, gdje se spajaju polukružnom trečom stranicom. Na jedru su istaknuta crveno bijela polja što obilježava pripadnost Republici hrvatskoj. Konture jedra su crne boje. Valovito more, bijele boje, simboliziraju po tri vala u dva reda, na dnu grga, crne boje. U pozadini grba: - crkva s preslicom je bijele boje, s crnim konturama, i križem crne boje, što Općini daje vjersko obilježje. - planina s dva vrha, bijele boje - crnih kontura, (lijevo Sv. Ilija, desno Sv. Jure), dva najviša vrha planine Biokovo. - na gornjem dijelu grba, koji je odvojen vodoravnom crtom, crne boje, piše OPĆINA BASKA VODA crnom bojom. Povjesna obilježja grba temelejna su na osnovnim djelatnostima ondašnjih pomoraca i težaka ovog kraja. Baška Voda bila je poznata Srednjojadranska tranzitna luka, spojnica otoka, Zagore i Srednje Bosne, a ta transportna veza se održavala brojnim štelama na jedra, bez obzira na vremenske (ne) prilike, uz ufanje u vjeru i Sv. Nikolu, zaštitnika putnika i mornara, čija se crkva nalazi u pozadini grba. [sic!] (Čl. 7, Odluka, 1994.)
Description of flag: Zastava Općine Baška Voda sastoji se od dva polja pravokutnog oblika, s odnosom 2 :1. Donje dvije trečine zastave su plave boje - boja mora, a gornja trečina je narančaste boje - boja zalaza sunca. Općinski grb se nalazi u plavom polu zastave , a odvojen je tankom niti boje stsrog zlata . Rubovi zastave su takodjer boje starog zlata. [sic!] (Čl. 10, Odluka, 1994.)

The originally adopted coat of arms shows a štela - a traditional boat with a single triangular sail, red-white chequy patterned, upon wavy white sea (three waves in two rows), and in the backgournd a small church with distaff belfry, and a two tops white mountain. The community name is inscribed above the shield. The flag is bicolour of orange and blue, the latter being double width of the former, with the coat of arms golden bordered in the blue field and a golden border all around the flag. It is unclear if this describes a horizontal or a vertical flag.

Descriptions of arms: Prijedlog grba općine Bol je redizajnirani povijesni grb mjesta Bol. Grb se sastoji od štita u gornjem djelu pravokutnog, a u donjem dijelu polukružnog. Štit je vodoravno podjeljen u odnosu 6:1. Gornji veći dio je tirkizno plave boje. Donji manji dio je zelene boje. Na donjem zelenom polju stoji lav u poluprofilu, okrenute glave. Lav je obojen žuto ili zlatno (prema mogućnosti izvedbe). U gornjem tirkizno plavom djelu štita, iznad lava, nalazi se od ramena polusavinuta desna ruka težaka, sa zavrnutim rukavom košulje. The coat of arms of Bol is azure on a base vert a lion stantant looking to sinister or and in chief an arm embowed to sinister proper clad or holding a laurel branch vert. This is basically the historical coat of arms granted in 1888. The flag is dark blue with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the centre.

Description of arms: Im blauen Schilde ein auf erdigem Boden linkswärts stehender und vorwärts sehender goldener Löwe, übersliegern vor einer aus einem braunen roth gesütlerten Halbärmel links hervorgehenden überbogenen bloszen Hand, welche einen grünen Oliven-zweig emporhält. Der Schild umgicht eine goldene Arabeskeneinsassung. [U plavom štitu na zemljanom tlu stoji na lijevo okrenuti naprijed gledajući zlatni lav, iznad njega na lijevo savijena gola ruka odjevena do pola u smeđi crveno obrubljeni rukav, koja drži uzdignutu zelenu grančicu masline. This coat of arms was granted t Bol on 8 October 1888, originally the base was described brown, the colour of the lion's eyes was given as green, while the hand was clead in red trimmed brown sleeve and holding an olive branch, even though the drawing was much the same. At the begining of the 20th century, Bol was using a red-white-blue tricolour flag with that coat of arms in the centre.

The coat of arms of Brela is azure two trees vert trunked proper issuant from a single rock argent. The coat of arms depicts the, so called, Brela Rock that is raising in the sea infront of the town. The flag is blue with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the centre. The ceremonial flag (to be confirmed) is blue gonfalon with the coat of arms in the centre, the name of the community above and two pine branches below.
Originally the flag was adopted with a white border around the coat of arms.
Until 1994 the community was named Donja Brela.

The coat of arms of Cista Provo is gules two keys or and argent in saltire their bows in cheif. It refers to St. Peter, the patron saint of Cista Provo. The flag is blue with the coat of arms set in the canton.
On 26 April 1996 the community adopted another design, by the same designer, including the keys, but also other elements, but it was turned down by the Ministry.

The coat of arms of Dicmo is barry of ten or and azure. The ten stripes refer to the Roman name of the place Decimin or Ad Decimum Miliarium (At ten miles), the place on the road inlands from the province capital Salona (Solin) where the milestone was and where the site of the most important road crossing in Dalmatia was. It is said that the golden stripes signify roads while blue stand for the sea coast from which the distance was measured. The flag is blue with the coat of arms bordered white in the centre of it.

The coat of arms of Dicmo used until 2014 was azure a church or within a border or with bendlets argent. It is the parish church of St. Jacob the Apostle in Dicmo. The flag was blue with the coat of arms in the centre of it. The coat of arms was used with and without horizontal hatching of the border, dividing it into ten stripes, symbolizing the same ideas as the curent arms. Such was used also in table flags, inscribed DICMO along the chief of the border.
Dugi Rat

The coat of arms of Dugi Rat is gules a mast or issuant with a single sail argent and a pennant azure. The flag is blue with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle (the statutes perpetuate the original typo describing the border of the coat of arms in the flag as green). It represents the sail of a bracera - a traditional type of a sail boat used in Eatsern Adriatic, with a single mast with a Latin sail on a crossbar. A bracera may also be propelled by rowing.

Description of arms: Grb općine Dugi Rat je u obliku štita, a podjeljen je na dva jednaka dijela koje odvajaju valovi zlatne boje koji predstavljaju more. U gornjem dijelu grba u bijelom polju nalazi se lik Sv. Jure na konju koji predstavlja Poljičku republiku. U donjem dijelu grba u plavom polju nacrtana je bracera koja predstavlja jedan od najkarakterističnijih simbola donjih Poljica. Polja u grbu odvojena su sa dvije valovite crte zlatne boje jednake debljine te odvojene za debljinu jedne crte. Simboli u grbu predstavljaju Poljičku republiku kojoj je pripadalo područje općine Dugi Rat, i to lik Sv.Jure na konju koji predstavlja Poljica kao cijelinu, a lik bracere koji predstvlja primorska Poljica. The coat of arms of Dugi Rat adopted in 1996. was divided per fess with two golden wavy lines, in chief argent St. George on a horse and in base azure a bracera. The flag adopted then was white with that coat of arms in the canton. It was to symbolize the sea (wavy lines), the Poljica (Poglizza) Republic (St. George) and the coastal Lower Poljica (the bracera. The design was not approved by the Ministry fo Administration so it was soon replaced with the current one.

The coat of arms of Dugopolje is azure a mountain argent with three tops issuant from base and in chief a down-pointing sword argent hilted or and in front of it scales also or. The mountain represents the Mosor mountain under which the community lays, while the sword and scales are symbols of St. Michael, the patron of the community. The flag is deep blue with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the centre. The blue colour of the flag is chosen due to the blue folk costume from Dugopolje worn by females called modrina.
The community of Dugopolje was formed in 1997 seceding from the community of Klis.

The coat of arms of Gradac depicts the houses along the sea flanked with chequy ribbon and a bunch of grapes in the base and topped with a dove holding an olive branch. It is not formally adopted, but it is in use. The community council decided to run a competition for design of its symbols in 2014, but the competition was eventually not held.

The coat of arms of Hrvace is azure a nightingale holding a vine branch with a bunch of grapes and a leaf standing on a peka dish all or. The peka is a kind of a cutlery ironware used for preparing food set under it and then covered with inflamed cinder, being traditional culinary method in the region. The flag is blue with the coat of arms bordered golden in the centre of it.

The coat of arms of Lećevica is gules on a triple mount vert an arm embowed vambraced argent holding a scimitar, ensigned with a cross or and in the chief sinister a crescent argent. Since the mid-19th century (1865) the community used a seal depicting a vambraced embowed arm with a cross and a crescent. The flag is light blue with the coat of arms outlined yellow in the centre of it. The ceremonial flag is a light blue gonfalon with three tails, ornamented with vine and olice branches, the coat of arms in teh center and the community name in two lines above it.
Until 1997 the community name was Kaštelska Zagora (also spelled Kaštelska zagora), with the seat of administration in Lećevica.

The coat of arms of Lokvičići is argent an eagle displayed gules beaked, armed and membered or and in the base three puddles azure, two over one. The puddles (Croatian lokva) are canting. The flag is light blue with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the centre of it.
Until 1997 the area of Lokvičići was an exclave (territory that is physically separated from the main part of the territory) of the city of Imotski, when it was seceeded and with part of the former community of Donji Proložac (today Proložac) it was established as a separate community.

The coat of arms of Lovreć is gules a winter savory plant or with seven pairs of flowers (1:3:2:1). This is heraldically correct form of the arms adopted in 2004. The winter savory (Saturea Illirica, also s. montana, Croatian: vrijesak, locally vrisak), also known in English as russian tea and bean herb is a plant growing abundantly in the region and is famed for its medical characteristics. The flag is white with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the centre.
The ceremonial flag is also produced, a pale yellow gonfalon ending trianguarly, bordered golden and with golden fringe along the bottom, with the coat of arms bordered golden in the centre, the name of the community above inscribed golden in two rows, the top one being arched, and with green branches of olive and vine in the base. Table flags are of the same general design in simplified form.

The coat of arms of Okrug is azure a seahorse gules and in cheif with two pyrethrum flowers argent seeded or. The pyrethrum (Lat. Tanacetum cinerarifolium), also known as Dalmatian chrysanthemum or big daisy, is a natural source of insecticide and is industrially exploited nowadays. The flag is light blue with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the centre of it. The ceremonial flag is pale yellow gonfalon ending triangularly with yellow fringe, with the coat of arms in the centre of it, the name of the communiy above and olive and vine branches below. A table flag in similar form but with blue background and yellow ornaments is also used.
The community of Okrug was formed in 1997 by secession from the city of Trogir.

Description of arms: Likovno rješenje grba i zastave Općine Otok temelji se na povijesno-geografskom naslijeđu potkamešničkoga dijela Cetinske krajine gdje je devedesetih godina 20. stoljeća ustrojena Općina Otok. Grb se sastoji od jednobojnoga crvenoga štita koji je oblikom identičan svome povijesnom naslijeđu – službenomu grbu Republike Hrvatske. Crvene je boje koja je u ikonografiji simbol Kristove žrtve i kršćanskog mučeništva, ali i hrvatskoga identiteta ovjekovječena na hrvatskoj zastavi i posebno u hrvatskom povijesnom grbu. U središnjem dijelu štita nalazi se krilati vol koji ikonografijski odgovara apokaliptičkom prikazu svetoga Luke Evanđelista. Vol je simbol žrtvovanja Isusa Krista i Crkve kroz njezinu povijest, a zbog tisućljetnog upisa hrvatskog naroda u kršćansku povijest i puka Cetinske krajine. Evanđelist Luka prisutan je u dokumentima hrvatskog srednjovjekovlja kao zaštitnik stanovništva do danas nepoznate „Crkve svetoga Luke u blizini Cetine“, koja je u kasnom srednjovjekovlju bila, uz sinjsku Crkvu sv. Marije, najznačajnija sakralna građevina Cetinske krajine. Budući da se u Cetinskoj krajini štuje jedino u Otoku, sva je prilika da je bio zaštitnik mjestâ na lijevoj obali rijeke Cetine koja su u tursko i u mletačko doba pripadala župi Otok: Grab do druge polovice 17. stoljeća, Gala do 18. stoljeća, Ruda do sredine 19. stoljeća te Udovičići, Korita i Otok do danas. Na mjestu starokršćanske crkve na otočkim Mirinama, koja je prema arheološkom mišljenju bila posvećena apostolu Luki, literatura je pretpostavila čak i sjedište do danas neubicirane biskupije Ludrum iz 6. stoljeća. Spomenuta je pretpostavka nerealna jer je ne prate drugi kasnoantički nalazi, osim samog imena svetoga Luke kojem su od kasnoantičkog razdoblja uz apostole kršćani redovito posvećivali crkve. Slijedom tradicije, sveti je Luka, čiji se blagdan u liturgijskom kalendaru slavi 18. listopada, izabran za zaštitnika Općine Otok. Krilati vol je u crnom obrubu, a po heraldičkom i astralnom pravilu bijele (srebrne) je boje. U njegovu se podnožju nalazi zlatni krug, zlatna nebeska „zvijezda“, od pet koncentričnih kružnica s križem u sredini. Te koncentrične kružnice s križem simboliziraju neraskidivost i jedinstvo pet naših općinskih mjesta: Gale, Otoka, Udovičića, Rude i Korita. Preuzeti su kao povijesno naslijeđe od pređa s kamenog pluteja do danas nepoznate starokršćanske crkve iz Gale (Gacko). Štit grba obrubljen je bijelom i crnom bojom. (Čl. 3, Odluka, 2006.)
Description of flag: Zastava Općine Otok bijele je boje, boje koja je u hrvatskom povijesnom naslijeđu dio njegova identiteta, a u liturgiji simbol uskrsnuća i svečanosti. Omjer širine i dužine zastave je 2:1. Grb Općine nalazi se u gornjem dijelu zastave. Podno grba, koji se točno poklapa sa sredinom zastave, nalazi se plava lenta u koju je latiničnom majuskulom upisan naziv OPĆINA OTOK. Plava boja simbolizira Cetinu i vode njezina sliva – Rudu, Ovrlju, Jarugu-Krenicu, Kosinac – bez kojih ne bi bilo života u Cetinskoj krajini. Zastava je obrubljena starohrvatskim pleterom zlatne boje kakvim je friziran križ na pluteju nekadašnje starohrvatske crkve iz Udovičića (staro groblje). (Čl. 4, Odluka, 2006.)

The coat of arms of Otok is gules a winged ox holding a book enxigned Lk argent and in the base a disk or ensigned with five concentric rings and a cross in the centre. Under the shield is a blue ribbon inscribed with the community name. The winged ox is attribute of St. Luke (his initials inscribed in the gospel book held by the ox), the patron saint of Otok. The circlet at the base is the "celestial star", a stone plutey, the only remains from the old Croatian church in Gala near Otok. Today the circles are interpreted to stand for the five villages in the community and their unity in religion. The blue colour of the ribbon is standing for the river Cetina and its tributaries. The flag is vertical, white with the coat of arms in the top half. The flag is bordered with golden wattlework, as it is found on a plutey cross from the old Croatian church in Udovičići.
According to info from the community officials, the designer of an "earlier design" is the painter Damir Jenjić, who alegedly registered the design and prevents free use of it - however, it is not clear if it is the design presented here or some other.

After the adopted designs were submitted for approval, some corrections in style were made, probably after the guidelines from the Commission for approving the symbols in the ministry of Administration, retaining all the previous charges in the coat of arms. The coat of arms of this design is recorded in use, but not the flags yet. Probably the approvel procedure is not yet finished.
The community of Podbablje had the seat of administration in Drum until 2006.

Podbablje published a public competition for the design of coat of arms and flag, with deadline on 18 March 2015. On 24 March 2015 it was decided that none of 8 designs received "symbolizes the sights and particularities of the community" and it was decided to run the competition again with the deadline on 13 September. On the second competition a design was adopted depicting infront of white sky green mountains over a dark blue three-arched bridge over light blue water and a dark blue proteus swimming to sinister and in the cheif between two yellow bunches of grapes a blue inscription "1705L" as it appears above the doors of the St. Luke church in Kamenmost. The flag is (presumably) blue with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the centre. The ceremonial flag is a blue gonfalon ending triangularly with yellow fringe with the coat of arms in the centre, the community name in a line and an arch above and vine branches and bunches of grapes ornament in the base. The symbols were sent to Ministry for approval.

The coat of arms of Podstrana is azure a fleur de lis argent gorged with a crown or. The crown is of the early Croatian style and presumably should represent duke Mislav (around 835-845). In 839 Mislav signed a peace treaty with Venice in Podstrana, after an unsucessful attack by Venetians to the Eastern Adriatic coast. It is recogned that Mislav owned lands in Podstrana. The flag is blue with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the centre. The ceremonial flag is, unexpectedly, dark red gonfalon with three triangularly ending tails fring golden fringe along the bottom, with the coat of arms in the centre, yellow name of the community in two arches above and ornaments of vine and fig branches in the tails. (Ornaments shown impresionistically, as no clear source was found yet) The table flag is a blue vertical flag with triangular tail bordered yellow with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the centre, the community name above and the fig and vine branches in saltire bellow.

The coat of arms of Postira is azure on a wavy barruly base azure and argent a three-mast sail ship maroon with sails or infront of a fortified city argent on a high rock vert issunat from sinister. The flag is blue with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the centre of it. The ceremonial flag is a blue gonfalon ending with three triangularly ending tails with tassels and with golden ornaments in the outer and two silver fishes (sardines) addorsed interlaced in the central one, the coat of arms in the centre and the name of the community above.
The original design of the ceremonial flag included light yellow sardines and different olive and vine branch ornaments forming wreath around the arms, but finally the first mentioned design was produced.
Primorski Dolac

Description of arms: Grb je izrađen u trokutastom, srcolikom štitu na plavom, žuto-zlatni grm smilja, korjen i 5 stabljika sa 5 cvjetova. (Čl. 7, Odluka, 2012.)
Description of flag: Zastava je jednobojna žute boje, omjera dužine 1 s1nne; 2:1, u skladu sa zakonskim odredbama. U sredini zastave, na sjecištu dijagonala nalazi se grb općine obostrano, obrubljen bijelim rubom, visina grba je 2/3 širine zastave. Počasna zastava - gonfalon - je dimenzije 80x150 cm, jednobojne žute boje, dvostruko skrojena i podstavljena. Materijal izrade svečane zastave je ATLAS-SVILA visokoga sjaja, boje u skladu sa likovnim rješenjem ili sa odabranim uzorkom materijala, na rubovima obrubljena zlatnom trakom a na dnu repa zlatnim resama. U sredini gonfalona nalazi se grb općine Primorski Dolac. Iznad grba zlatnim slovima ispisan je natpis: Općina PRIMORSKI DOLAC, ispod grba a iznad repova gonfalona nalazi se ukrasni ornament, zelene grančice sa cvjetovima kadulje. Ukrasni štap za ovjes gonfalona izrađen je od mesinga sa ukrasnim kuglama, opremljen priborom za ovjes, zlatnim cordonom, ukrasnim kuglicama, resama i alkom. Pribor za nošenje zastave je drveno ili mesingano ukrasno koplje, visine H=2,8 m zaštićeno odgovarajućim bezbojnim lakom. Pribor za postav kompleta zastave i koplja je kovana pozlaćene masivno postolje. (Čl. 8, Odluka, 2012.)

The coat of arms of Primorski Dolac is azure an imortelle shrub eradicated with five stalks and as many flowers or. The imorlelle or dwarf everlast (Helichrysum arenarium, Croatian: smilje) is a Mediterranean plant known for its medical use, but also appearing often in folklore for its flowers as ideal of youth beauty. The flag is yellow with the coat of arms in its centre edged with white outline. The ceremonial flag is a yellow gonfalon with tails and fringe along the bottom, the coat of arms in its centre, the name of the community above and green branches of sage (Salvia officinalis) with flowers below it.
The community of Primorski Dolac was formed in 1997 by secession from the community of Kaštelanska Zagora (Lećevica).

The coat of arms of Proložac depicts in a blue shield a white massoned bridge infront of city ruins in sinister and a rock in dexter. Several variations of artistic depiction of the design were recorded. The flag is light blue with the coat of arms edged golden in the centre of it.
Until 1997 the name of the community was Donji Proložac.

The coat of arms of Pučišća on the island of Brač is: gules thirteen towers argent massoned sable, three, two, three, two and three. The flag is white with the coat of arms in the centre of it bordered yellow (previous reports of the yellow flag seems to have been errorneous). The ceremonial flag is pale yellow gonfalon with three rectangular tails and fringe along the bottom edges, with the coat of arms in the middle, the name of the community in two arches above it and motto in a arch below it. In the tails there are ornaments of vine, olive and oak branches. The motto could be translated as "Drop by drop wears away the stone."

U srednjem dijelu grba nalazi se stara jezgra Segeta Donjeg na zelenoj pozadini. Na gornjoj lijevoj strani ovog dijela je grančica hrasta sa plodovima žira, a na gornjoj desnoj strani je vinova loza sa grozdom grodža. U donjem dijelu grba je sidro na plavoj podlozi. The coat of arms of Selce is azure a hoe and a hammer in saltire both or infront of an anchor argent. The anchor is a clear reference to the maritime traditions, the hoe to the agriculture that was main source of living in the island while the hammer represents the stone-mason's hammers - namely, the island of Brač is the source of the most valued white stone, that is traditionally mined ever since the pre-Roman times.
The flag is blue with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the centre of it. The ceremonial flag is a blue gonfalon ending triangularly with godlen fringe with the golden brodered coat of arms in the centre, the inscribed name of the community above and the branches of olive and vine below.
The original 2004 decision describes the handles (hafts) of the hoe and hammer as silver (white), and this was changed with the 2005 correction to golden (yellow). It is not clear weather this was actually intended design subsequently changed, or if it is a genuine misprint of the original decision text.

The coat of arms of Sućuraj azure a knight on a horse (St. George) piercing a dragon all or. The flag is blue with a yellow bordered coat of arms in the centre of it. There is also a gonfalon adopted for a ceremonial flag. Even if there are already numerous communities and cities in Croatia picturing in they arms St. George, the community of Sućuraj gained the approval of this designs first of all because in it archives it is preserved a dry seal with the saint's image dating from the time of the Napoleonic rule in Sućuraj.

The coat of arms of Sutivan pictures two saints, the name sake of the town St. John and her patron St. Roch: Azure, in dexter St. John Baptist stantant haloed or haired and barbed maroon clad in camel fur gules with his dexter hand raised and holding in his sinister a staff or with a pennant argent hoisted from a crossbar, in sinister St. Roch stantant haloed or haired and barbed maroon holding in his dexter a staff or and by his sinister pointing to a wound on his leg, wearing sandals or. Although the descriptions state that St. Roch should have golden sandals, all depictions in use show him with brown boots. The flag is blue with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the centre of it. The ceremonial flag is a dark blue triangularly ending yellow bordered and along the bottom fringed gonfalon with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the centre, the yellow name of the community in two arches above and with yellow branches of fig and olive tree and a bunch of grapes below. The design (drawing) of the ceremonial flag and the actually produced one differ in details of layout of elements, most notably the smaller ornament under the arms and lack of segmented sleeve.
The community of Sutivan was first established in 1823 and integrated in the larger community of Brač only in 1944. In that period it used a seal that already included the pictures of the two saints in a similar disposition as in the modern coat of arms.
The community of Sutivan on the Brač island was formed in 1997 seceding from the community of Milna.

The coat of artms of Šolta was used in its historical form of an oval shield in a cartouche depicting St. Stephen the First Martyr, standing and holding a palm branch. It was used monocoloured shown in brown or golden. The flag was a vertical red banner with that coat of arms in its centre and five segmented yellow sleeves along the top. Red vertical flags without the golden sleeves were also recorded in use, as well as the vertical table flags of the same design. These symbols were not officially adopted.
In 2011 the Koprivnica compoany Pikant Marketing was hired to prepare a modernized design, that was sent to the central authorities for the approval. Certain amendments were requested by it, but the process apparently stopped at that. Eventually, the design by Heraldic Art from Rijeka was adopted and approved.

The coat of arms of Zadvarje is vert a waterfall argent and in the chief azure opened gates or. This is heraldrization of the emblem used previously, depicting the canting gates and the watterfall of Velika Gubavica, 48 m high being the largest in the region. The flag is blue with the coat of arms edged yellow in the centre of it. The ceremonial flag is a light blue gonfalon ending triangularly with fringe, the coat of arms in its centre topped with the name of the community and with two branches of honeyberry below. The streets of Zadvarje are lined with alleys of several centuries old honeyberrys (or the European nettle tree, also know as the Mediterranean hackberry or the lote tree, Celtis australis L.).

The design conisdered for adoption after the initial refuzal of the previous one was simplification of it consisting of the whit edged closed golden doors over a series of white lines in blue field. The flag was light blue with the white outlined coat of arms. This eventually led to the adoption of the current symbols.

The emblem of Zadvarje used previously depicts white mountains above the sea represented with uneven blue and white horizontal lines, a stream is pouring between the mountains into the valley and atop is a yellow tower all between two black trapezoid flanks. The mountains represented are Mosor and Biokovo, the stream is Gubavica and the fort is medieval fortres of Duare (meaning "gates", guarding the pass from the inlands between the mountains toward the sea). The modern name of the community might be translated as "behind the gates" and the black flanks presumably additionally cants that.

The coat of arms of Zmijavci is azure a dove stantant argent and in cheif sinister a Latin cross of the same. This is apparently a reproduction of a motive from a relief from 6th century. The flag is light blue with the coat of arms edged yellow in the centre. There is also a ceremonial flag, a light blue gonfalon ending triangularly with golden fringe, with the coat of arms in the centre, the name of the community in two arches above and vine ornaments below. besides, a rectangular vertical flag with the contents of the cermeonial flag is also recorded in use, with minor differences (black outline of the elements, different font).
The officially approved blazon describes the placement of the cross in the arms as "top right", using unheraldical descriptor for the "chief sinister" position where the corss is regularly shown in these arms.
Until 1997 the community was named Zmijava-Runović (or Zmijavci-Runović according to other source).
