The coat of arms adopted by Mozirje when it constituted the territory of towns of Mozirje and Rečica ob Savinji was combination of the coats of arms of each. It was blue with yellow triple hill fimbriated green atop of which is a red roofed white church, and in base of the hill a linden tree proper issuant from a green mount. The flag was vertically divided invected in blue and yellow fimbrated green. There are three semicircles forming invected division line "entering" the blue square field.
The coat of arms is composed of the two historical coats of arms, that of Mozirje (Azure a Church-Castle on Triple Mount) and of Rečica (Or a Lindentree Vert). The flag was devoided of any attributes, to avoid giving precedence to any of the two towns.

Car licence plates, 1990's
Before independence the community used unofficially the historical coat of arms of the town of Mozirje. When the need for the car licence plates required the coat of arms the artwork was formalized in this shape, but was eventually replaced with the officially adopted coat of arms of the community.

The coat of arms is "turquoise" (as the colour is named in the Decision) with silver/white bar and three golden-yellow suns - one rising, one in the zenith and one setting. The three orange charges are also interpreted as three apples, the attributes of St. Nicolas, the patron of Murska Sobota parish. The flag is bicolour of turquoise and white with the coat of arms off-set to hoist. Horizontal version has the green stripe above, and vertical version has it to the viewer's right, just opposite to the most common practice for flag rotation.

Gules a Wagon Wheel Argent with Nine Spokes missing the Tenth through which space it is pierced by a highly couped Tree Trunk Sable growing from a Triple Mount Vert. From the lower part of the trunk are growing symmetrically one on each side two twigs each with a silver heraldic rose and three golden linden leaves. The flag is in the shape of Slovenian cross - a triband covered with a square field in the middle of the sides equal to the hoist size. It is white with a red cross; it contains in the middle of the square field the attribute from the coat of arms, the tree trunk with the wheel. Reading the decision literally, it seems that the vertical variant is not allowed.
