The flag of Western-Herzegovina is basically a variation of the Croatian flag used by the Croat Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia in the first half of 1990's. It differs only in the coat of arms, which is itself only a slight variation of the Croatian coat of arms, differing in the shape of the shield, and having a golden triple wattle ornament in chief. The Constitutional Court of the Federation ruled them unconstitutional in 1998, but the symbols remained in use. In 2000 the Constitution was amended and the description of the symbols were removed from it, to be further defined by the law, eventually adopted in 2003, prescribing the same symbols.
