The region along the border against Turks was excluded from Croatian-Slavonian civil administration and formed so called Military Border as a defence bulwark under military administration subordinated to Vienna. The Border was divided in military principle, and by the end of 18th century there were five districts with no recorded flags, though some military flags might have been in use.
